Daniel was a third year finance student at the University of Zurich when he found a great way to put his finance studies into practice - AIESEC.
As leader of a national finance team for AIESEC in Switzerland, he gained practical experience in auditing and planning, as well as training other AIESEC members in financial management.
“For me, being active in AIESEC has been a great opportunity to put theoretical knowledge gained at university into action. My learning hasn’t just been about finance though - I’ve gained skills in leading meetings, public-speaking and project management, and also improved my English,” he said.
In the past few months Daniel has had the opportunity to work with several multinational finance companies, learning the how they work from the inside. He later transferred this knowledge into practice and developed a national financial management strategy for AIESEC in Switzerland.
The experience Daniel has gained working for AIESEC has helped him to define more clearly what he wants to do in his future career, and the experience in financial auditing and controlling that he learned in AIESEC is invaluable.
Besides the opportunity to develop his professional skills, Daniel also benefited from the vast international network in AIESEC. Attending international conferences has given Daniel the chance to meet young people from all over the world.
Interacting with so many other cultures has allowed Daniel to learn more about his own culture, something that he hopes to share next year while taking advantage of the opportunity to go on an internship with AIESEC’s Global Internship Program.
